Appears to be made well disappointed it didn't come assembled with the handles . To top it off the screws ate extremely tiny .

In addition to bacon you can use it as a:
Panni press for sandwiches
Split hot dogs or sausages, [Grilled inside and outside]
Grilling Flat Bread
HEAT DEFUSER: You can use it as a heat Cast Iron Heat Defuser. The round shape is great for this application. Just remove the handle, Trust me this is not rocket science. To remove the handle you need a screwdriver and a open or close end wrench [the best and easiest]or adjustable pliers. Takes 1-2 minutes max. Now you have 2 tools in one. Use the defuser between you stove burner and your pan, to control heat for simmering liquids, clarifying butter or tempering chocolate. The handle removal and placing back on is easy. Those who complain that the handle comes loose only have to tighten snugly. REMEMBER to let it cool before removing from the stove burner.

The press is great. I'm able to press sandwiches with it and I don't need an electric sandwich maker. It does what I want it to. The weight is perfect. I love it!
