Darn! I can't believe that in the reviews of this product nobody pointed out that the lid is *not* removable for cleaning!! That is a big negative. I've had many rice cookers over the years and the lid on all of them has been removable. The directions say to "Wipe the underside of the lid with a warm, damp cloth. Dry with a soft cloth" That's how I would clean a baby, not a rice cooker. Argh!

This rice cooker is one of the best on the market for the money. I have had many rice cookers over the years and none performed as well as this. The digital control is accurate and allows for perfectly prepared rice each time. It is very easy to clean and the "steam run-off collector" is much more secure on this model than others I've used. This is a very good value in an appliance and I highly recommend it. I even cook as little as one cup of dry rice and it still comes out perfectly.
